관계대명사의 역할

 

1)

접속사와 대명사의 역할

There is a boy and a boy reads a book.

There is a boy who reads a book. (관계대명사 사이로 동사가 두개가 되는 것이 출제포인트)

 

There is a boy I and I like him.

There is a boy whom I like.

 

There is a house and its roof is red.

There is a house whose roof is red.

 

2)

선행사가 사람이면+ who/whom/that/whose

선행사가 사물이면 +which/that/what/whose

 

 

3)

선행사의 일치,수일치, 태일치

A student which are satisfying with the curriculum do not fail the subject.(X)

-> A student whish is satisfied with the curriculum does not fail the subject.(O)

 

4)

a.관계대명사의 생략

1) 목적격 관계 대명사는 아무때나 생략가능하다

I bought the product that(=which) the newspaper recommended yesterday.

-> I bought the product the newspaper recommended yesterday.

 

b. 주격 관계 대명사는 be동사와 함께 생략가능하다.

I bought the book which was written by him.

-> I bought the book written by him.

The man who is standing by the plant is my supervisor.

-> The man standing by the plant is my supervisor.

유사관계대명사

There were 60 man and some of them have left.

There were 60 men some of whom have left.

 

6)

관계부사

There is a house and I live in the house.

-> There is a house which I live in.

-> There is a house in which I live .

-> There is a house where I live.

 

cf. There is a house on which I live.(x)

-> There is a house which I live on.(x)

지붕위에서 산다는 것은 불가능하므로 틀린문장이다.

-> 전치사와 선행사를 도치시켜 쓰임새가 맞는지 확인해본다.

 

 

문제) We wish to organize an arrangement ______ we can establish and online network between suppliers and distributors.

(A) whereas     (B)which      (C) for which     (D) where

 

-> 빈칸뒤는 완벽한 문장이다. 그러므로 관계부사만이 올수 있다. 선행사가 협정(arrangement)이라는 것을 보았을때 그 안에서 네트워크를 구축할수 있다는 문맥으로 보아서 in which= where로 보아야만 하는 것이다.

=Although+S+V+형/부,S+V
